Collected Dandelion drawings, 2005, graphite.

Collected Dandelion drawings, 2007, graphite with digital color.

Every figure I draw must be named, it seems.

  1. How does naming a character affect you? How does not naming one affect you? Very nice colour palette here on your rubbery lady. Thanks for the invite!

  2. Thanks for the compliment, sire. As for the invite, you're very welcome.

How does naming a character affect me?

Well, I think naming something gives you power over it, as is the case with any number of things, including drawing techniques, algebraic formulas, behavioral traits, scientific phenomena, etc.

Why do I need or desire power over my drawings?

That's a question more difficult to directly answer. Perhaps it has something to do with the need to create meaning for or apply meaning to the things I do, including this or that drawing.

    Stay royal!

  3. Adorable stuff. I love it when you go for sweetness; it's what you do best.

  4. Thanks! I do like the sweetness. It's certainly nice to think that shows in my drawings.
