Pirate and Parrot, 2002, ink with digital color.

I spy a pirate post!

The image above is an old item of homework for Drawing Class (eventually Drawing Jam) on the Drawing Board. Its background is lifted from an engraving by Gustave Dore which illustrates some editions of Coleridge's The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.

Pirate tee designs, 2005, ink with digital color.

As the sub-heading indicates, these're proposed tee designs. I imagine green and blue shirts'd be fun, too.

  1. The lady in the top illustration is very sexy my friend. Quite the curvy lass. I particularly love the way you handle her arm shape. And the second cartoon pirate girl is a fantastic design. The one with blue hair has a FANTASTIC color pallette.

    That is all.

  3. Hey, thanks for the friendly words!

    jesse hamm: Thank you, sir!

vanhoozerbot: I think I see what you're seeing in the 2002 gal's arm, but would you be willing to further describe? As for the second design, there's something I kinda like about the blue-haired one, too.

tracy fran: Hi, Tracy! Glad you dig the designs. At some point I might try to have a batch of shirts prepared at a local printer but, in the meantime, I think I'll soon decorate my languishing CafePress shop with pirate tees.

    Thanks again for visiting, folks.
